My friend made me aware of this cute children's book called The Elf on the Shelf. You put the little elf out each night and he watches your children during the day to let Santa know if they've been naughty or nice. It was featured in "Oprah Magazine" and sounds like a tradition kids would love. Find it here.

super cute. i'm all over it. my kid's book list is getting out of control!!
It's never too early to teach a child how to be paranoid, is it?
;)
what a fun idea! ditto, blayne. it really is never to early for paranoia.
My mom stashed little homemade elves standing guard around our house, one on the mantle, one on the lamp etc. You better believe that if I was getting into mischief, it wasn't in front of the elves. I WILL have elves around my house someday. This looks like a great book to add to my list. I love this blog!
what a cute idea...just adds to the excitement. (I love how Tate left candy for the elf)
